On Thursday 17th October we welcomed representatives from 11 East Riding primary schools to attend our CPD launch event at the Aura Innovation Centre, Hessle. The event outlined the programme details for the year-long , funded project which aims to support the development of STEM and promote careers learning in their schools. The project has been developed in collaboration with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and funded by Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
We had a great day presenting information on STEM learning and showcasing some STEM resources and activities that schools can access including the mini wind turbines for science and design investigations, the Global STEM Awards and H2 The Future – the hydrogen fuelled buggy racing activity! Schools were also gifted with copies of CANDOO the STEM Careers card game and the STEM in Conservation Pathway project book to take back to their schools.
We are now looking forward to working with the schools over the course of this academic year, supporting teacher knowledge in local STEM industries and confidence in delivering STEM in the classroom.
